Since i powered on without a cpu and it checked for the cpu with error code: FF, should mean that the mobo is working? The tech support then suggests that the CPU is to blame. over here

Evga X58 Error Code F3

I was prepared for a little... I recently purchased 6 new CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 and the motherboard stopped to booting. I tried running only one stick of RAM in Slot 1 (three different sticks that were in the system working before). Makes me smile when i can do it! #8 legendftw New Member Total Posts : 4 Reward points : 0 Joined: 2013/09/01 10:25:03 Status: offline Ribbons : 0 Re:ANOTHER x58 SLI3

I guess if i do, on the plus side, i'll have two rigs by the time i check everything! Also just becuse you have new memory does not mean that is good also could be a bad MB any chance of eletro static discharge on some of your components... I just installed it and its the same F3/F6 68 reboot problem. It is written in BIOS chip "ix58 s22d".

Using a digital multimeter, test the P1 connector while the power is on.4. It still boots with: 1) old 3 dimms plugged in 3 green slots 2) new 1 dimm plugged in 1 green slot (all DIMMs checked this way) 3) new 2 dimms I've searched online and found many others who have had this issue, but have not found anyone who could pinpoint a resolution. Nothing here as well.

EVGA did me an RMA, the board I got back was wicked warped. UPDATE 2 Unfortunately it is said in manual that MB supports "up to 12 gb" of memory. Tried new RAM, still f3,f6,62/68 shutdown/powerup cycle.Did a psu test and that passes.

just a thought. 12-22-2008, 05:28 PM #12 Wrench97 Team Manager, GamingTeam Manager, Microsoft SupportTeam Manager, Hardware TeamMicrosoft MVP Join Date: May 2008 Location: S.E.

A lot of RMAs have been reported. I would just buy another mobo, but i'm not sure if it could be the mobo or cpu or something else entirely. Only thing i cant test is cpu as i have no other. That is the Bios update.

Can BIOS upgrading help? and I sold the stuff off for an X79. One bad stick may have been the culprit, or all three? Reset the BIOS by removing the battery and unplugging the power for 5~10 minutes.

If it was the CPU, would the board be giving me a different response? 12-22-2008, 05:26 PM #11 noellhommedieu Registered Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Posts: 18 OS:
