the cpu could be the culprit since the mem controller is on the cpu versus previous generations had the mem controller in the north bridge. So unprobably that motherboard is damaged! So do you think I'm wrong in saying that the EVGA motherboard is simply caput? I recall a long time ago the argument being running these sticks at 1.65 volts for extended periods was sooner or later going to be a problem.....either for the RAM or I tried running only one stick of RAM in Slot 1 (three different sticks that were in the system working before). Resetting CMOS to factory defaults didn't help.
